In recent years, there has been a radical change in the environment involving flat panel displays (FPDs).
A brisk demand for flat panel televisions and cellular phones has led to an increase in production and upgrading of FPDs. In technological aspects, there has been a remarkable evolution in various process technologies, such as achieving for higher resolution through use of low-temperature polysilicon liquid crystals, and manufacturing even larger mother glass for larger screens.
